Autumn
Sharon Lasitter
A smear of smoky salmon
drawn along the skyline
dusk pulls in.
Rose hips
dry on twigs
leaves hang pale.
A frost tonight
silvery along the gourds
staked vines wither.
North wind rattles
pod of reed
geese arrow south.
